Frosty the Snowman

I'm taking a quick break from posting trip pictures to share some pictures from this week with all of you. I'll hopefully get the remaining pictures from our jaunt to Tennessee posted this weekend. :)
~
Like much of the country we had a decent snowstorm here this week. During the girls afternoon nap on Tuesday I dashed outside and built a small snowman on our deck. I was able to snap a cute picture of Kennedy outside with him before Reagan woke up and went outside to play. Doesn't she have the sweetest smile ever???
When it started snowing Tuesday morning I pointed it out to Reagan and asked her if she would like to go outside and play. Without hesitation she told me no. Later she asked to look outside at the snow. When we did she told me it was "deep." I assurred her it wasn't deep or anything like the snow we saw in Wisconsin (like I said earlier we apparently traumatized the poor girl). With the help of Frosty I convinced Reagan it would be fun to go outside. Apparently 2-3 inches of snow on the deck is more Reagan's speed because she loved the snow this time!!! lol :)

A very excited Reagan heading out to greet Frosty :)
"Frosty!!!"
"Hug"

Frosty earned a "fire dance"
Reagan also enjoyed holding, crushing, and eating snowballs

Due to the freezing rain and sleet we received I didn't think it would be possible to play out in the snow a second day but Reagan had differant ideas. After checking it out it wasn't nearly as messy as I thought it might be and I was glad Reagan was able to get some more outdoor time. She enjoyed the ice every bit as much as the snow! :)

Frosty the Iceman

Reagan determined the ice was ice cream and enjoyed eating it very much!

Reagan playing "Peek-A-Boo"
Thank you to Kelly, Charlie, Chaz, and Anna for the Abby Cadabby hat and mittens for Christmas. As I mentioned in the last post Reagan hates wearing hats and mittens well now she loves them! Not only did she love wearing them outside to play she's been picking them up, putting them on herself, and wearing them around the house. lol :) This definately made playing outside a lot more fun this week so thanks so much for the perfect gift! :)

Wisconsin Snow

I realized I somehow forgot to post pictures of Reagan playing in the Wisconsin snow. Our time outside was relatively short as Reagan doesn't like hats, mittens, or boots... She was doing okay until we tried to sled down the hill and then she was pretty much done. Poor girl! She was traumatized by all the Wisconsin snow and on more than one occasion!

Hurry up and take the picture I want to go inside!!!

Now is my chance to make a break for the house not to mention heat!

Grandma Packages

Last Saturday morning Reagan had a package from Grammy & Pa as well as Grandma and Grandpa to open. What a lucky girl!
~
Please note the butterfly wings Reagan is wearing. I picked these up on clearance after Halloween last year and Reagan has just recently taken a liking to them. I told Tim this past weekend that I think I might have her be a butterfly and Kennedy be a caterpillar for Halloween this year. Wouldn't that be adorable??? lol :)

What's in here?
M&M's! (which we obviously love)
In this picture Reagan is working very hard at digging out a paci we left behind at Grammy's house
Grandma sent some clothes along with candy and other fun items. When Reagan opened it up and saw the clothes she started pulling them out and saying they were Kennedy's! lol :)
Until she got to these yellow pants which for some reason she determined should go on her head...
The clothes may have belonged to Kennedy but the candy was apparently all Reagan's
Too much fun! :)
This sure is a yummy heart marshmellow!!!

Thank you for sending us so many special treats Grammy and Grandma!!!

"Under Seige"

That is how one newsbroadcaster described how our neighborhood looked this afternoon and there have been a couple of times I would have to say I agree. It's very odd to look out your back window and see a swat team walking down the street. So as you've probably gathered we've had a bit of unusual activity in our neighborhood today. I noticed while playing with Reagan this morning that there were a number of police and disaster relief vehicles not to mention policemen on our street. I called down to the Cameron Station clubhouse and they said there had been a shooting. It turns out that the neighborhood coffee shop co-owners are also boyfriend and girlfriend and live in a townhouse a block or two away from our townhouse. He shot her this morning, held their 2 year old hostage for a short while, and then barricaded himself in their home. The whole thing apparently started nearly 12 hours ago and as the policemen and swat teams are all still here I presume the situation is continuing. Our entire community has pretty much been put on lockdown. The elementary school that is in our neighborhood was on lockdown this afternoon and the buses for the middle school and highschool were not allowed to drop kids off here today. Because of our proximity to the action we are in the area with the most restrictions with the exception of the actual street the townhouse is on. Tim couldn't park at home tonight and he had one policeman tell him he didn't think he would be allowed to come to our house at all. When I went out to speak with a policeman about letting Tim come through they came right up, asked what I needed, and asked that I return to the house. When Tim called to say he might not get through he said he felt like he was somewhere he shouldn't be. Luckily they did let him through to come home without too much trouble. I feel sorry for all the people who live on Waple and are having to spend the evening/night at the local elementary school. Our thoughts and prayers are with the woman who was shot. She was taken to a local hospital and friends of ours said they heard news that she is stable. We certainly pray that is true and that this standoff will end soon and with no further incidences.

Kennedy Ellen's Baptism

I know I already put up a short post regarding Kennedy's Baptism in Mount Olive but I wanted to finish that up with some additional pictures. Kennedy was baptized on Sunday, January 4, at the church Tim grew up in. Her Godparents are Barry and Annette Hamlin and Tim's little sister, Julie and her future husband, Chuck. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day so special for us!

After church we had a dinner for friends and family. Reagan had a lot of fun playing with Kylie and still talks about her on an almost daily basis.

Aunt Kayci is so much fun!

Thank you to Grammy and Pa for the beautiful flowers for the altar and decoration after church, thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for the incredible cake, and thank you to everyone for all the thoughtful gifts!

May God bless you and keep you Kennedy Ellen!
