Watch Me Grow - Kennedy - 1 Month

I can't believe Kennedy is already a month old! She is such a sweet sweet little girl!!! Kennedy is a super snuggly baby and loves to be held all the time just like Reagan did. We love to accomodate her! :) She is much more wiggly and active than I remember Reagan being at this age, however. Kennedy seems so much stronger at this age raising her head and already trying to roll (not that she's anywhere close but I don't remember Reagan even trying). Despite constantly being on the move Kennedy loves to be swaddled whereas Reagan couldn't stand being bundled up tight. Kennedy also talks (snorts and grunts) all the time. She is such a noisy little critter and it is so cute! :) I'm not sure Reagan is still entirely sure what to think about Kennedy but she's more than happy to provide hugs and kisses if we ask her too. We're so blessed to have such two precious little girls and we're having lots of fun watching them grow! :)

Kennedy - 1 Month - December 2008
Kennedy - 1 Week - November 2008

Thank you to Aunt Arla for the cute Christmas outfit for Kennedy's 1 month picture!

~

Sorry I'm behind in posting. I probably won't be able to get pictures from Christmas posted for a week or more. We are in Michigan now and leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow. Then we'll be in Illinois for a little more than a week over New Years before heading to Tennessee. So it may be the end of January before I get caught up with all the family, friends, and holiday pictures - sorry but thanks for your patience! :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

Sweet Baby

While Reagan and I worked on cupcakes (see below) Kennedy sat in her swing like a little doll! She is such a sweetheart and pretty cute too if I do say so myself! ;)

Baking Cupcakes

Today Reagan and I tried to bake cupcakes together. I was slightly overly optimistic about how this experience would unfold...
~
I had everything set up and measured so Reagan would just have to dump everything together. Very organized, right? Wrong! While taking this picture Reagan dumped my premeasured water all over herself.
So we added a towel to cleanup and control the mess :)
We then decided we'd be further ahead in the highchair. Yes, that's cupcake mix around Reagan's mouth. Reagan decided the cupcake mix was yummy and I couldn't keep her from eating it even before we had the batter mixed.
Yes, those are the first of many tears. Reagan was quite upset that we put the batter in the muffin tins instead of eating it directly.
Reagan was quite serious about licking the bowl clean
Very clean! And we shed some more tears when there was no batter left to be licked. :(
We also shed quite a few tears over having to wait to put the frosting and sprinkles on. Once we got to that part Reagan just wanted to eat the sprinkles despite my best attempts at showing her how she could decorate her cupcakes. I didn't argue though I figured she could do whatever she wanted with her sprinkles! :)
Yummy sprinkles!!!
I don't think Reagan even cared about the cupcakes lol :)
Better make sure we eat ALL the sprinkles!
Reagan finally noticed the cupcake! :)
SUCCESS!!! Once Reagan took a bite of the cupcake she decided she wanted to decorate it. By that time I had already sprinkled a little on all of them, however, and quickly took the extras away before they all had a bite removed from them. :)
Yes, sprinkles go on the cupcake!
Making sure we have sprinkles on every last bite of cupcake
In this picture Reagan is saying "Making a mess." I would agree that we did make a mess! lol :)
In the end and despite the tears I do believe we had some fun. :)

Sisters

Since Kennedy is 3 weeks old today I thought it would be fun to have a little sisters photo shoot in some coordinating sweaters and hats I had picked up for the girls.
Kissing baby Kennedy
Reagan decided it was time for the hats to come off and time to wear bows
"Lounging"
Sweet sisters
Not great pictures of their faces but I thought it was so cute that they both crossed their legs

"Hug" - That's what Reagan told Daddy before laying her head down on his shoulder
One picture of open eyes :)
Kennedy had her two week appointment last Monday and weighed 8lb 5oz. She is currently in the 75 percentile for both height and weight.

Good-bye Grammy Gifts

Grammy left to go home today which made Reagan very sad. :( Grammy had planned ahead though and had some good-bye gifts for Reagan to open and play with. They were mostly Thomas toys and Reagan loved all of them. Thank you Grammy for spending so much time with us and for these cool new toys!
Playing with the new hill track

You can kind of see Reagan saying "Choo-choo" in this picture
Kennedy got to try out her bouncer for the first time today. Poor baby! While we know it wasn't as nice as being held by Grammy she did really well and I think she actually enjoyed the bouncer (for a while).

Playhouse

While she was here Grammy turned the box Reagan's little swingset came in into a playhouse. Thank you Grammy for making such a fun place to play!
~
Reagan declares herself "So cool" when she's wearing sunglasses
Reagan will hide inside the playhouse and ask "Where is Reagan?" then she pops out and answers "There she is!"
Building the playhouse
A first look at the progress being made
Daddy and Reagan making some windows
Peek-a-boo!
All done and Grammy is so much fun!!! :)

Santa

Reagan & Santa
Kennedy didn't get to visit Santa but she was okay with that because as her shirt says "Who needs Santa when I have Grandma?"

Sunday Fun

This is a southern girl's idea of "Lots of snow!" In all fairness to Reagan I guess this pile was a lot compared to the amount on the ground. Reagan also announced that it was "Very Cold!"
Daddy got Reagan started holding this watermelon. Grammy has helped since and even allowed her to carry it around the kitchen. Mommy is a bit concerned it's going to end up broken all over the kitchen floor but this doesn't appear to concern anyone else. lol :) In the meantime Reagan enjoys holding the watermelon and alternately saying "I love it!" or
"Big; heavy!"
Reagan has really been enjoying the advent calendar from Great Aunt Joan this year. We've been letting her find the right number and then place the ornament on the tree. Besides being fun this will be a great learning tool as we get to numbers Reagan doesn't yet recognize. Thanks Aunt Joan!
